Before any of that, the request sits pending in the operator’s control. Some sites allow reverse withdrawal during that window, which lets you cancel the payout and put the money back in play — it is not universal, and where it does not exist a request cannot be pulled back once processing starts. Verification is the usual delay

Licence Condition 17 requires an online operator to verify a customer’s identity before that customer gambles, and the verification must establish that name, address and date of birth all belong to the same person. Where that was done properly at sign-up, a payout has nothing left to check.

There is also a rule in your favour: a withdrawal request must not trigger a demand for information that the operator could reasonably have asked for earlier. Operators are expected to tell customers before they deposit what documents may be required, when, and how to send them.

How to keep it short

Register in the name on your bank account, finish verification before the first deposit, and withdraw to the method you paid in with. Those three habits remove most of the delay that players blame on the bank.

If a payout stalls beyond the quoted window with no explanation, the operator has eight weeks to resolve a complaint before an independent ADR body can take it, and the clock only starts when you put it in writing.
