How We Check Casinos

Every operator in a table on this site is held in one list of 24 UKGC-licensed brands, and the same thirteen checks are recorded for each of them. The checks are deliberately dull: licence records, published offers and what the account actually supports. Where a fact is not published, the field stays empty rather than being filled with a guess.

The thirteen checks

1. Licence held. The operator appears in the Gambling Commission's public register as a current licensee.
2. Licensee and account number. The company name and account number behind the brand are recorded from that register entry, not from the website footer alone.
3. Permitted activities. The remote activities the licence covers — casino, bingo, betting and the rest — are recorded as the register lists them.
4. Welcome offer figure. The current British welcome offer is recorded with its number, not as “huge bonus”.
5. Where the figure came from. Every offer carries the page it was read from, so a stale number can be traced and corrected.
6. Minimum deposit. The deposit needed to qualify for that offer.
7. Wager-free or not. Whether the offer carries wagering at all, recorded as a yes or no.
8. Live casino. Whether live dealer tables are part of the site.
9. Sportsbook alongside. Whether the same account also takes sports bets.
10. Open to UK players. Whether the brand accepts customers in Great Britain at the time of the check.
11. Seen on British review portals. How many established UK review sites list the brand — a zero is recorded as a zero.
12. Year founded. How long the brand has been trading.
13. Operator group. The group the brand belongs to, so sister sites are visible rather than hidden.

Two further fields — the wagering multiplier and the full banking list — are recorded where the operator publishes them, and left empty where it does not. They are not counted among the thirteen because they are not available for every brand.

What we do not do

• We do not test with our own money. Nothing here is written as a personal play session, because it was not one.
• We do not publish star ratings or user reviews. There is no scoring formula and no invented community score.
• We do not sell a check result. Links in the tables are commercial, and the order of a table is set by our own list; a payment cannot change what a check recorded.
• We do not claim what we cannot show. No years of testing, no contact with operators, no exclusive access — only the fields above.

When the record changes

A licence lapsing in the register removes a brand from every table on the site, not just the page it was found on. Offers change without notice, so a figure here is the one last read from the operator's published terms — and the operator's own terms are what apply when you open an account.
